Financial Accountant (7-month Contract)

SUMMARY:
A mining company in the West Rand is looking for a Financial Accountant that is available immediately to assist their team for 7 months. It is essential that the successful candidate has more than 5 years' experience, be familiar with Accpac and Registered with SAIPA as a Professional Accountant.

POSITION INFO:

Minimum Requirements:

• Matric.
• SAIPA Articles.
• 5-10 years’ experience required.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Bank Responsibilities:

-            Loading all payments

-            Prepares payments by verifying documentation.

-            Matching of delivery note, supplier tax invoice, payment, and authorisation

-            Capturing/Processing of payments

-            Reconciliation of bank accounts

-            Reconciliation with General Ledger

-            Banking administration

-            Liaising with Banks

• Foreign petty cash.
• Responsible for Revenue and Cost of sales.
• Monthly/Quarterly processing of journals.
• Management fees.
• Cash Management Responsibilities:

-            Liaison with the procurement department to schedule payments

-            Scheduling of office expenditure

• Following up on foreign payments.
• Responsible for the full Creditor’s and Debtors’ function
• Preparation of the monthly Management Accounts.
• VAT 201 calculations, submissions and disputes.
• Monthly intercompany reconciliations.
• PPE (Depreciation calculation and journals).
• HR/Payroll.
• Substantiates financial transactions by auditing documents.
• Maintains accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.
• Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analysing account information.
• Maintains financial security by following internal controls.
• SOX Controls relating to above (Internal controls).
• Assisting the Group financial Manager on tasks that may arise.
