Financial Accountant

SUMMARY:
Manufacturing company in Kempton Park seeking an experienced and qualified Financial Accountant.

POSITION INFO:

Processing of accounting activities for the respective company code(s) including monthly, quarterly & yearly IFRS (international financial reporting standards) group reporting in a self-initiating and independent manner.

Knowledge and Experience Requirements:

• Ideally a person with SAICA/SAIPA articles, with at least a degree
• Bcom Accounting or National Diploma in Accounting from a commonly approved institution
• Minimum of 5 years business experience in General Ledger/Asset Accounting in an international company with IFRS reporting
• Very strong knowledge about IFRS reporting requirements
• Strong IT skills including SAP/Module FI, HFM, MS Office (especially Excel) Basic Hyperion Financial Management knowledge
• Must have completed (signed off) Articles)

Essential Functions:

• Reflection of daily business activities in accounting for the respective company code(s) including
• Travel cost accounting
• Intercompany invoicing
• Currency valuation
• provisions
• Other business activities
• Monthly, quarterly IFRS group reporting including:
• Informing yourself regarding changes & updates on continuous basis
• Clear communication with regional & global team
• Implementation of new standards or changes in accordance with instructions from Global/Regional team in a timely manner
• Clear communication of intercompany activities with respective entities to ensure clean and continuous reconciliation
• Correct reflection and maintenance of IFRS trial balance in local ERP system
• Correct and timely tax reporting and communication with Global tax team
• LGAAP reporting including:
• keeping track of any changes & updates
• Continuous tracking of deviations from IFRS reporting requirement
• Correct reflection and maintenance of local trial balance in local ERP system
• Timely tax reporting to tax authorities
• Reflection of daily business activities in asset accounting
• Correct tracking of assets under construction and follow up on completeness
• Capitalization of assets resulting from capital expenditures once completed
• Reflection of all movements of assets in SAP
• Correct inventory numbering and reflection in SAP

• Continuous assessment of asset inventory per Cost Centre
• Keeping track of differences between IFRS and correct reflection in SAP

• Continuous reflection of IFRS16 leasing contracts in the respective software solution
