SUMMARY:
Durban. Established medical research centre seeks competent Financial Accountant with at least 5 years financial accounting experience, strong financial accounting ability, and proven ability to analyse and prepare budgets, identify spending patterns, and project future expenditures.

POSITION INFO:

Responsibilities:

Perform control account reconciliations
Monitor cash flow, cash flow forecasting, and ensure adequate funding lines are in place
Preparation of monthly management reports
Preparation of grant budgets and any forecasting exercises as required
Prepare financial reports for funders
Actively participate in internal audits, external audits, and grant audits

Requirements:

Degree in Accounting / Finance
At least 5 years’ experience in financial accounting
Working knowledge of accounting principles and bookkeeping for budget planning and cost analysis
Experience with reconciling discrepancies and audit procedures
High level of computer literacy (particularly Microsoft Excel)
SAP Business One experience preferred
Grant management experience preferred
