Financial Accountant

SUMMARY:
An innovative company in the financial services industry is seeking a Financial Accountant to join their dynamic team. The Financial Accountant will be responsible for coordinating and completing financial month end within set deadlines, with specific focus on IFRS and tax compliance.

Minimum Requirements:

• CA(SA)
• SARB Reporting Experience Essential
• A sound knowledge of accounting practice, statutory IFRS and management accounting as well as experience in finance month end reporting
• Minimum 5 years’ experience within the Financial Services Industry (preferably transactional and microfinance banking industry experience.)
• Corporate Income Tax and VAT knowledge
• External reporting ability including preparation of annual financial statements and external audit engagement and management
• Knowledge of Pastel Evolution advantageous
• Advanced Microsoft Excel Skills
• Accurate and strong attention to detail and analytical capability

Key Performance Areas (Responsibilities):

The Financial Accountant’s duties shall include, but not be limited to:

• Full financial function and accounting to trial balance
• Completion of monthly DI returns to SARB
• Corresponding (with the Support of management) with SARB
• Reporting and preparing financial information for monthly management reporting in accordance with IFRS
• Reviewing of tax and vat matters
• Analysis of monthly management reports/financial statements for variances to budgets
• Overseeing the monthly Management Information Pack
• Preparing a year-end audit file for responsible divisions
• Assisting in the year-end audit and dealing with auditors
• Corresponding with group finance relating to annual financial statements layout and preparation
