Financial Accountant

SUMMARY:

A well-known franchise brand is looking for a vibrant individual to join their Finance team as Senior Accountant in Midrand. The successful candidate should be able to maintain relationships with franchisees and maintain the full finance function.

BCom Degree/National Diploma in Financial Accounting or similar.  Immediate starters will get preference.

POSITION INFO:

Minimum requirements:

• BCom Degree/Diploma in Financial Accounting
• Proficient in Windows XP packages
• Proficient on IQ Enterprise would be an advantage
• Self-motivated
• Strong administration skills
• Reliable

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Creditors
• Receive invoices from supplier, attach applicable order
• Capture invoice from creditors in the accounting system
• Creditor reconciliations to statement from creditors
• Filing of documents
• Debtors
• Create Invoicing schedules and get sign off from management
• Raise invoices in the accounting system
• Do debtors recon and distribute statements
• Filing of documentation
• Bank/Cashbook
• Obtain bank statements directly from the bank
• Upload statements into accounting system
• Reconcile cashbook
• Resolve all queries timeously
• Filing of documentation
• Reconciliations
• Keep and maintain control spreadsheet up to date with deadlines
• Ensure balance sheet accounts are reconciled on a regular basis
• Resolve all queries timeously
• Filing of documentation
• Standard journals
• Monthly depreciation journals
• Monthly expense provisions – Accounting Manager to authorize
• Monthly loan and interest journals
• Monthly VAT journals
• Monthly Salary Journals
• Monthly Stock Journals
• Month-end
• Ensure that all month-end activities are completed as per the month-end control sheet
• Maintain and update monthly control sheet
• Reporting
• Prepare monthly management accounts timeously
• Meeting with Accounting Manager to ensure packs are accurate and complete
• Financial Year End
• Assist Accounting Manager in preparing audit packs
• Service Delivery
• Maintaining excellent service delivery
• Ensure professionalism is withheld with clients at all times
• Maintaining filing system
• Maintain electronic diary and reporting system (BIAB)
• Complying with Accounting Manager and director’s requirements which may arise from time to time
