A leading supplier and manufacturer of brick and paving supplies is looking for a CA(SA) to join their finance team as a Financial Accountant. The organization supplies its products both locally and internationally to countries namely USA and Singapore.

POSITION INFO:

A leading supplier and manufacturer of brick and paving supplies is looking for a CA(SA) to join their finance team as a Financial Accountant. The organization supplies its products both locally and internationally to countries namely USA and Singapore.

JOB & COMPANY DESCRIPTION

The Financial Accountant will be responsible for preparing the annual and monthly tax for the Group as well as completing the annual tax returns and preparing the monthly VAT returns. The Financial Accountant will be responsible for the preparation of the annual insurance declaration, assisting with annual audits and monthly management accounts and preparing the annual financial statements. The successful candidate will be responsible for foreign currency payments, IFRS 16 calculations, treasury, reconciliation of sundry debtors, month end processes, year end processes and petty cash. The successful candidate will be responsible for company secretarial work such as maintaining company registers and filing annual returns with the Register of Companies.

EDUCATION

The successful candidate must have the following qualifications:

• CA (SA)

JOB EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED

• At least 3-4 years’ post article experience in a similar role
• Experience in the manufacturing/construction/engineering industries is preferred
• Experience leading and managing a team is non-negotiable
• Knowledge dealing with foreign currency payments, VAT, patents, and trademarks is preferred
• Working knowledge of IFRS 16 and dealing with lease agreements is non-negotiable
• Willing to work overtime if required
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Deadline orientated
• Experience dealing with large turnovers
• Experience with treasury, budgets and forecasts, month end, year end, petty cash, and sundry debtors
