SUMMARY:
Our client is a well-established company, currently ranked within the Top 100 Companies listed on the JSE, currently seeks a Financial Accountant, who is available to start immediately.

POSITION INFO:
Minimum Job Requirements:

Chartered Accountant (SA) or B.Com Honours in Accountancy.
Completed articles.
Minimum 5 years experience as a Financial Accountant.
Staff management experience.
Keep up to date with financial policies, practices and regulations.

Responsibilities:

Daily:

Capture bank statements and bank reconciliation.
Authorise purchase requisitions.
Process general journals.
Adhoc requests from the Financial Manager.

Weekly:

Compile and prepare profit estimate compile reports.
Prepare reports with budgets and actuals.
Check and review the debtors & creditors age analysis.
Review and release payments.
Check the ERP system for integration errors.
Follow up on outstanding Capex projects.
Check costing of finished goods products.
Finished stock weekly reconciliation.
Confirm sales volumes and NSV.

Monthly:

Process month-end balance sheet reconciliations.
Finalise general journals which includes: payroll journals; accruals & others.
Month-end stock counts (including outside cold storage).
Finalise the bank, fixed assets, debtors, creditors and inter-company reports and transfers.
Contribution report.
Prepare and submit month-end reports.
Update the costing model in the ERP system.
Conduct self-audits of departments and cycles.
Establish and report on reasons for variances between actual, budget and prior year.
