Financial Accountant

SUMMARY:
Financial Accountant required to take responsibility for all the core accounting processes as well as ad hoc requests from the Financial Executive and Managing Executive.

POSITION INFO:
Duties and Responsibilities
Month end reporting:

• Assist with preparation of the month end management accounts which include Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cashflow Statement and Commentary.
• Maintain trial balance to ensure accurate reporting and analysis on various ledger accounts.
• Processing of month end journals to close each month off.

• Preparation of ad hoc reports as required by the Financial Executive and Managing Executive.

• Maintaining fixed asset registers
• Reconciliations of BS accounts
• Review of IS accounts and reconciliation of Revenue between the subsystems
• Assisting business units and stores with various queries
• Confirming of payments with stores and analysis of cash requirements as well as reviewing daily cash ups
• Assistance within various areas within finance including debtors and creditors
• Managing the clearing accounts through identifying and solving issues within in the clearing accounts.
• Payroll journals, reconciliations and supporting payroll with finance related queries
• Gaining an understanding of the Inventory adjustments, including processing the adjustments and challenging the assumptions
• Maintaining accounting policies and procedures
• Consolidation of the group results for Balance Sheet, Cash Flow and Income Statement.
• Assistance with EXCO reports.
• VAT calculation and processing.

• Responding to audit queries and requests.
• Processing of year end journals to close the year off.
• Tax calculation and submission
• Assistance of audit pack and annual financial statements with Finance Executive.

• Assisting in the preparation of budgets
• Managing the sales to insurance companies through preparing the invoices and monitoring the collection of these receivables.
