JOB SUMMARY:
A well-known international Plastics Manufacturing Company requires the above to be responsible for the full financial accounting function including planning, budgets and forecasts and the preparations of management information and interpretations of financial results within the Company.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Minimum requirements for the role:

A BComm (Hons) in Financial Accounting or related degree is essential for this role.
Previous experience having worked as a Financial Accountant within a Manufacturing or related environment is essential for this role.
Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) is preferred for this role.
The successful candidate must have advanced Excel experience.
Must be familiar with the South African Companies Act, South Africa’s generally accepted accounting practices and Tax Law.
Previous experience having worked on an ERP system such as SAP or similar is essential.
Must have strong negotiating and presentation skills.
Must have strong team dynamics with excellent written and verbal communication skills across all levels as well as exceptional planning and organisational skills.
Ability to lead and facilitate the team to maximise results.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Supporting the financial function through the collection, processing, recording, reconciliation and reporting financial data.
Verifying the validity, completeness and accuracy of source documents.
Supporting financial planning and record-keeping as well as providing prompt, on time and transparent internal and external financial reporting.
Responding to financial inquiries by gathering and interpreting relevant data.
Managing and training staff when required to do so.
Working closely with the Financial Director and Managing Director of the Company regarding all financial duties.
Raising customer invoices per month.
Generating supplier purchase orders and reconciling customer accounts on a monthly basis.
Capturing and reconciling supplier invoices per month.
Performing full accounting functions, capturing and processing information.
Performing intercompany transaction and reconciliations.
Preparing documentation for supplier payments and loading them for release by Directors.
Processing journals (provisions/accruals) etc.
Handling the full function for creditors and debtors, taking the accounts to trial balance.
Balancing statements and journals.
Reconciling all suppliers monthly and balancing the ledger.
Loading suppliers and maintaining the asset register.
Managing and controlling the payroll function ensuring that all salaries are paid promptly and efficiently.
Checking returns for all benefits and authorising payment.

Salary package, including benefits, is highly negotiable depending on experience gained.
