POSITION INFO:
This fast-evolving group runs large-scale operations across Africa, balancing the structure of corporate finance with the energy of a company that’s always building and expanding. The finance team here doesn’t just report, they enable.
As the Finance Accountant (Operations), you’ll be the bridge between financial accuracy and operational delivery. You’ll own the full accounting function, manage a small team, and bring insight and efficiency to the daily financial heartbeat of a business with real impact.
You won’t just keep the books balanced, you’ll make the business better.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own the accounting cycle up to trial balance - accurate, timely, watertight.
- Drive monthly reconciliations across multiple African entities.
- Take charge of prepayment and creditor reviews, ensuring accuracy and clarity.
- Oversee intercompany accounting and group reconciliations.
- Lead and develop a capable junior team - mentor, motivate, and multiply excellence.
- Evaluate and enhance finance processes - automate, simplify, improve.
- Manage and release cross-border payments, ensuring compliance with SARB & SARS.
- Review debtors and creditors ageing - chase, resolve, and clean up.
- Prepare VAT reconciliations and ensure seamless compliance across entities.
Job Experience & Skills Required:
- Qualification: CA(SA) or CIMA.
- Experience: 5+ years in accounting with at least 2 years leading or mentoring a team.
- Technical: Advanced Excel + ERP fluency
- Exposure: Cross-border experience (Southern Africa or Middle East) advantageous.
- Attributes: Process thinker, fixer, leader - someone who thrives on ownership.
- Language: Portuguese a plus, but not essential.
