POSITION INFO:
A prominent, publicly listed multinational leader operating a complex multi-entity structure is seeking a high-caliber Financial Accountant to join their centralized group finance division. This position is custom-built for an ambitious, technically sharp finance professional with completed articles who is looking to step into a sophisticated corporate reporting environment. Working directly alongside seasoned finance directors, you will bridge the gap between technical accounting governance (including IFRS 3 business combinations) and commercial Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A). Group Consolidations & Intercompany Controls: Execute multi-entity group consolidations, perform cross-border intercompany reconciliations, and verify data consistency across global business units. Taxation & Regulatory Governance: Formulate Income Tax and VAT compliance schedules, perform tax ledger reconciliations, and manage year-end external audit engagements. FP&A, Budgeting & Performance Analytics: Contribute to rolling forecasts, annual budgeting models, and variance analyses, delivering actionable commercial insights to optimize profitability. Balance Sheet Stewardship & Controls: Perform deep-dive balance sheet reconciliations, strengthen internal accounting controls, and participate in continuous process engineering projects to enhance reporting speed and accuracy. Job Experience and Skills Required: Formal Education & Foundation (Non-Negotiable): A completed BCom Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related commercial discipline, alongside successfully completed SAICA or SAIPA training articles (qualified CA(SA) candidates or those actively pursuing registration are highly regarded). Commercial Track Record: 1 to 3 years of post-articles commercial accounting experience. Sector Domain: Prior experience operating within manufacturing, publishing, FMCG, logistics, or related multi-entity environments is advantageous, as is exposure to a listed or multinational enterprise. Technical Domain Expertise: Advanced, practical knowledge of: IFRS Standards & Technical Accounting (including IFRS 3) Group Consolidations & Intercompany Accounting Budgeting, Forecasting & FP&A Frameworks Corporate Income Tax & VAT Regulations Systems & Digital Capabilities: Advanced operational command of Microsoft Excel (complex financial modeling skills) paired with strong analytical capabilities.
