Financial Assistant - Fixed term contract - Cape Town

JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are hiring a Financial Assistant to join one of the largest Financial Institutes in South Africa. What will you do?

The successful candidate will report to the Head of Statutory Reporting and responsibilities will include, amongst others, the following:

Processing of foreign subsidiary financial results in HFM (Hyperion financial management) for monthly reporting, year-end close process and interim review process
Assist with cluster financial consolidation including preparation of note disclosures for year-end close process and interim review process
Assistance with the compilation of holding company financial statements in terms of IFRS
Ensure effective controls and procedures are in place, and focus on process improvements
Interactions with the external auditors
Assistance with a special project in respect of note disclosures
Assistance with a special project in respect of IFRS 17

What will make you successful in this role?

Qualification and Experience

Minimum requirement - B Compt Accounting (undergraduate completed)
1 - 3 years relevant experience in a similar role within financial services and/or insurance industry

Knowledge and Skills

Good working knowledge of IFRS standards and group consolidations
HFM experience will be an added advantage
Experience in the financial services and insurance sectors will be an added advantage
