POSITION INFO:

Financial Controller

Accounting and Financial Oversight.

Oversee all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, and cost accounting functions, to ensure accuracy and compliance with corporate policies and regulatory standards.

Maintain and enforce a robust internal control environment, mitigating financial risks and supporting the integrity of financial data.

Partner with the bookkeeper and other accounting staff to ensure the timely closure of monthly, quarterly, and annual books, providing transparent and accurate financial results.

Establish and implement accounting policies and internal controls, ensuring best practices that meet corporate standards and regulatory compliance.

ERP System Implementation.

Lead the selection, design, and implementation of a new ERP system that integrates financial data with operational processes to enable real-time reporting and enhance decision-making capabilities.

Coordinate with IT and cross-functional teams to configure the ERP system to align with company needs, ensuring compatibility with current systems and compliance with financial reporting standards.

Develop and lead training initiatives for staff on ERP functionalities, streamlining data input and optimizing workflows across departments.

Monitor ERP performance post-implementation, ensuring consistent data integrity, system accuracy, and alignment with evolving business requirements.

Strategic Financial Planning and Budget Management.

Develop, implement, and manage the annual budgeting and forecasting process, working with departmental leaders to set financial goals aligned with corporate strategy.

Conduct ongoing financial analysis to monitor budget adherence, identifying and addressing variances to maximize cost-efficiency and operational effectiveness.

Drive financial modelling for scenario planning, including assessments for capital expenditures, financing, acquisitions, and other strategic investments.

Advise senior leadership on financial impacts of operational decisions, aligning corporate financial strategies with growth initiatives and resource allocation.

Board Reporting and Corporate Financial Communication.

Prepare comprehensive board packs, including detailed financial analyses, market insights, and strategic financial recommendations for board review.

Draft and present regular financial reports, ensuring the board of directors and executive team have access to accurate and timely financial data for informed decision-making.

Develop quarterly and annual financial statements, as well as investor-level reports, with full transparency on financial performance, future forecasts, and any significant variances from the plan.

Collaborate with senior leadership to identify key performance indicators (KPIs) and develop reports to track financial and operational performance.

Compliance, Governance, and Risk Management.

Ensure the company’s financial operations comply with legal and regulatory standards, including tax regulations, statutory requirements, and financial reporting frameworks.

Oversee the external audit process, coordinating with auditors to ensure timely and accurate audit completion; implement audit recommendations to strengthen the control environment.

Develop and enforce policies around financial governance, ensuring all corporate procedures adhere to ethical standards, corporate governance policies, and risk management protocols.

Regularly assess financial risks, implementing appropriate mitigation strategies to safeguard company assets and promote financial stability.

Stakeholder Engagement and Strategic Financial Advisory.

Act as a primary point of contact for external stakeholders, including banks, auditors, investors, and regulatory bodies, maintaining effective relationships to support corporate objectives.

Provide strategic financial insights and recommendations to support executive decision-making and long-term planning, helping to navigate corporate finance challenges and optimize capital structure.

Lead the financial due diligence process for mergers, acquisitions, or other partnerships, providing thorough analyses and projections to guide strategic growth decisions.

Participate in corporate development initiatives by providing financial insights that support product expansions, operational efficiencies, and market competitiveness.
