Financial Controller

SUMMARY:
Are you a driven finance professional with a BCom, completed articles, and solid commercial exposure in a production or manufacturing environment? Africa’s leading battery manufacturer is looking for a Financial Controller to lead and oversee critical financial operations at their Johannesburg East facility.

POSITION INFO:
As the Financial Controller, you will play a vital role in ensuring the financial integrity, performance, and efficiency of our operations.

Key Responsibilities Will Include:

• Full Financial Function: Oversee the general ledger, trial balance, month-end close, and financial statement preparation.
• Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the annual budgeting process and monthly forecasting; monitor actual performance against budget.
• Costing & Inventory: Manage standard costing, BOM accuracy, and inventory control in a high-volume production environment.
• Internal Controls: Develop and enforce robust internal controls, ensuring compliance with internal policies and statutory regulations.
• Cash Flow Management: Prepare cash flow forecasts and manage working capital requirements.
• Team Leadership: Supervise finance team members, ensuring continuous development and high-quality performance.
• Audit & Compliance: Liaise with external Auditors and manage the annual audit process; ensure tax and statutory compliance.
• ERP & Reporting Systems: Leverage financial systems (SAP/SAGE or similar) for reporting, efficiency, and accuracy.

• BCom Degree in Accounting/Finance – Essential
• Completed articles (SAICA or SAIPA) – Essential
• 3–5 years post-articles experience in a manufacturing or production environment
• Strong understanding of costing, stock control, and production processes
• Proficiency in financial systems (e.g., SAP, Syspro, and SAGE) and Microsoft Excel
• Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills
• Ability to work in a high-pressure, fast-paced operational environment
