Financial Controller - 6 Month Contract (possible perm)

SUMMARY:
A well-established manufacturing business is seeking a hands-on and experienced Financial Controller to join their Finance team on a six-month contract.
This is a critical role within the Finance function and would suit a strong finance professional with a solid understanding of manufacturing operations, costing, inventory and financial reporting. The successful candidate will be highly hands-on, adaptable and comfortable working across multiple departments in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

POSITION INFO:

Key Responsibilities Take ownership of key aspects of the monthly financial reporting and month-end process Prepare and review management reports and reporting submissions Support budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis Perform cost and variance analysis and identify unusual trends or discrepancies Manage and analyse inventory, stock variances and working capital Participate in quarterly stock counts and audit processes Manage fixed assets, capital expenditure and the asset register Perform balance sheet reconciliations Support internal and external audits Supervise and support the Debtors and Creditors functions Release and review payments in line with company controls and procedures Work closely with operational and finance teams to support effective financial decision-making Liaise with local and international stakeholders as required Minimum Requirements Relevant Finance qualification Proven experience in a Financial Controller, Finance Specialist or similar senior finance role Previous manufacturing experience is essential Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, including costing, BOMs, inventory and factory operations Hands-on Syspro experience is essential Strong experience in month-end reporting and financial controls Experience with budgeting, forecasting, inventory and working capital Previous experience managing or supervising a finance team would be advantageous Exposure to OneStream\/Unifi would be advantageous Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Stable employment history and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment Please note: This is a six-month contract position, with the possibility of a permanent opportunity depending on business requirements and performance.
