POSITION INFO:

An international transport and logistics company is looking for a detail oriented Financial Manager to join their team in DRC. This is a task oriented environment so the ideal candidate is someone who is willing to get their hands dirty and take initiative to deliver results. The role will be based on a 9 weeks on and 3 weeks off rotation and will include benefits such as accommodation, flights and medical aid. The role will include duties such as:

Take ownership of the balance sheet, P&L and all technical accounting duties
Review any query raised by DRC tax authorities
Supervise Finance team and ensure that Financials procedures are strictly applied
Analyse current and past financial data and performance
Ensure timely monthly Finance reporting
Ensure strict application of Finance procedures
Prepare accurate and useful consolidated financial information for the shareholders
Explore investment opportunities, through extensive financial modelling and forecasting
Establish and evaluate profit plans
Identify trends in financial performance and providing recommendations for improvement
Identify key risks within the group and prepare risk profile matrix with proposed solutions to minimize exposure.
Coordinating with other members of the Group finance team as well as working closely with the individual company’s finance teams to review financial information and forecasts
Providing financial models and forecasting for internal investments
Provide creative alternatives and recommendations to reduce costs and improve financial performance.
Consistently gain and update industry knowledge
Any other duties that may be allocated from time to time

Job Experience & Skills Required:

Qualifications & Experience

CA(SA)/ACCA/CIMA/CFA
Big 4 experience
5 years’ experience in transport, supply chain, logistics or mining
French would be beneficial
