SUMMARY:
A multi-national heavy hitter in the insurance space is looking for a skilled Finance Director.

POSITION INFO:
The ideal individual will be solid in Financial Reporting and Accounting, with an analytical mind able to implement strategies and convey this through results analysis and commentary.

Responsibilities:

Monthly Financial Reporting of UMA''s in line with IFRS Standards
Timely and accurate Financial Management in accordance with month-end close process
Analysis of Financial Performance of UMA''s, as well as contributing to planning of quarterly forecasts to the Group
Direct reporting to Board Members
Oversee the development, design and implementation of processes to ensure efficient and accurate processing of financial related information
Monitoring and adoption of Financial Reporting Standards to ensure compliance to the Group Financial Reporting requirements are in compliance and adhered to
Advise on effective internal controls and systems to ensure the achievement of objectives relating to Operations, Reporting and Compliance
Management of the SAICA training programme
Employee Engagement in terms of providing assistance with, training and mentoring of the finance team members
Chairing of the Investment Committee meetings
Involvement in regular engagement with Regulatory,
Tax and Compliance Authorities, as well as industry associations
Act as lead on the IFRS17 Project Accounting work stream and work closely with the Actuarial & Analytics Team Lead to deliver the implementation of IFRS 17 within the businesses
Be innovative in terms of embracing technology and in building a finance environment for the future with integration to all aspects of the company

Requirements:
CA(SA)
8+ years post Articles experience
Accounting related Qualifications
Experience in working within large Financial Services, Multinational Groups or Large Accounting Firms

Experience in the Implementation of Financial Systems will be highly advantageous
