is recruiting unemployed youth for quality workplace experience through the Youth Employment Service (YES) initiative.

About the YES Initiative
The initiative was launched by the President in 2018 and is a partnership with the government and labour department to collectively devise a national plan to build economic pathways for South Africa’s youth by creating workplace opportunities for South African youth over a period of 12 months.

Position: Financial Management Admin Intern

Stipend: R8000

Location: Gauteng (Mamelodi East)

POSITION INFO:
About the role
To support the school’s financial administration, including fee management, record keeping, basic bookkeeping, and financial reporting while gaining practical experience in school finance operations.

Responsibilities:

Capture and update learner fee payments in the financial system or spreadsheets
Issue receipts for cash, EFT, and other payments
Assist with preparing monthly fee statements for parents
Maintain accurate financial records and filing systems
Reconcile daily cash and payment records
Assist in tracking outstanding fees and preparing follow-up lists
Support procurement processes (recording purchases, filing invoices)
Assist with basic budget tracking for school activities and events
Prepare simple financial reports under supervision
Ensure confidentiality of all financial information

Learning Outcomes for Intern

Practical bookkeeping and financial administration
Understanding of school finance systems
Cash handling and reconciliation processes
Financial reporting basics
Compliance with financial policies

Minimum Requirements

South African Unemployed youth between the ages of 18 and 34.
Must not have participated on the YES programme before.
Matric.
Qualification in Financial Management / Accounting / Business Administration.
Basic knowledge of MS Excel or Google Sheets.
Attention to detail and honesty.
Good numerical skills.
