POSITION INFO:
My client is looking for a dynamic Financial Manager to take ownership of the Finance Centre of Excellence, drive performance, and support strategic finance initiatives across a multi-entity, multi-country organisation.

This role is based in Bryanston, Johannesburg North.

Key Responsibilities

Lead, mentor, and manage the Accounts Payable and Cashbook team, ensuring high performance and continuous development.
Act as the subject matter expert for accounts payable, cash allocations, and related controls.
Drive efficiency through KPI reporting, finance metrics, and process improvements.
Oversee end-to-end accounts payable processes, vendor reconciliations, and weekly payment runs.
Manage the month-end close process, including preparation of reporting packs with commentary.
Deliver accurate monthly balance sheet reconciliations and intercompany reconciliations.
Support external and internal audits, ensuring compliance and data integrity.
Post payroll data, process journals, and manage freight and express job exceptions.
Oversee vendor/customer onboarding, invoice and credit note processing, and general ledger coding.
Maintain fixed asset registers, lease schedules, and perform accrual and prepayment allocations.
Support the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting process.
Lead workforce planning, team scheduling, training, and performance appraisals.
Collaborate with regional finance teams to implement an effective Centre of Excellence strategy aligned with company growth.

Qualifications and Experience

Degree in Accounting or Finance (essential).
At least 5 years’ experience in a similar role, including team leadership and AP/cash allocation functions.
Multi-site, multi-currency experience is highly desirable.
Strong working knowledge of ERP systems and financial dashboards.
Intermediate to advanced Excel skills and proficiency with MS Office tools.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
High attention to detail with sound accounting knowledge and problem-solving ability.
