Are you a detail-oriented and experienced Financial Manager looking to contribute to a dynamic, education-focused environment? A well-established, independent school based in Parklands, Cape Town is seeking a Financial Manager to join their dedicated team.

? About the Role:

Reporting directly to the Head of School and the Group Financial Director, you will play a pivotal role in managing the school’s full financial function. This hands-on position requires someone with strong attention to detail, sound judgement, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.

? Key Responsibilities:

• Preparation of provisional and final budgets, monthly cash flow and management reports

• Monitoring of budget controls and general ledger reconciliations

• VAT and EMP201 submissions

• Supplier capturing, reconciliations, and payments

• Debtors control: invoicing, reconciliations, collections, and enforcing suspensions

• Payroll processing and eWallet reconciliations

• Handling of Forex transactions, journals, and approval of purchase orders

• Processing of refundable deposits and allocation of annual levies

• Camp costing and extramural reconciliation

• Coordination of annual audit requirements, including working papers and audit queries

• Ensuring correct invoicing, bursary allocations, and discounts

• Managing operational stock and refreshments

• Oversight and guidance of a Financial Assistant

• Other ad hoc financial duties as required

? Requirements:

• Minimum 3–5 years of financial management experience

• A relevant finance/accounting qualification

• Strong working knowledge of financial systems and reconciliations

• Excellent organisational, problem-solving, and communication skills

• Experience within an education environment is advantageous
