SUMMARY:

Financial Manager –
Cape Town - Bellville

Are you a detail-driven financial professional looking to take full ownership of finance operations across multiple entities? Our client, a well-establishedLaw Firm based in Bellville, is seeking an experienced Financial Manager to manage the full accounting function, payroll, statutory compliance, and more.

POSITION INFO:

Key Responsibilities:

Banking & Payments

Weekly reconciliations for ABSA, FNB, and Standard Bank business accounts
Process payments as required
Oversee all postal transactions and resolve account queries weekly
Manage creditors and monthly reconciliations
Maintain fixed asset register monthly
Prepare and submit VAT201 returns monthly
Compile monthly cash flow forecasts and management statements

Payroll, HR & Compliance

Process monthly salaries and weekly payments to part-time/contract staff
Maintain employee contracts, leave records, and personnel files
Address queries regarding payslips, leave, and employment matters
Submit PAYE, UIF, SDL (EMP201) monthly
Handle EMP501 submissions (interim in October and final in May)
Annual ROE submission (March)

Petty Cash & Staff Payments

Manage petty cash and bank withdrawals
Weekly/monthly staff reimbursements and allowances
Reconcile and process related transactions

Month-End Close

Reconcile business bank accounts
Pay creditors and update BP fuel statements
Update and post credit card statements
Salary reconciliations
Update asset register and post depreciation
Calculate director loan interest
Prepare deeds office and E4 reconciliations
Submit management accounts

Inventory & Operational Support

Place supply orders (Waltons, Pick & Pay, Clicks, etc.) as needed
Handle inventory requests and assist with delivery intake
Oversee company vehicle servicing and maintenance
Manage remotes and security gate access lists

Annual Requirements & Statutory Submissions

Apply for FFC Certificates (December)
Letters of Good Standing (May)
Support with audit preparation and submission of annual financial packages

Property & Rentals (SCT Division)

Issue monthly rental invoices
Manage municipal account queries
Submit VAT bi-monthly (Feb, Apr, Jun, Aug, Oct, Dec)
Annual bank summary and audit prep

â The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

A qualification in Accounting or Financial Management
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role
Strong knowledge of VAT, PAYE, UIF, SDL and EMP submissions
Experience with payroll systems and accounting software (Sage, Xero, etc.)
High attention to detail and ability to multitask across multiple entities
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
