SUMMARY:
A high-calibre Finance Manager opportunity has arisen within an international organisation with a growing footprint across Africa. This role offers meaningful regional exposure, ownership of complex statutory finance across multiple countries, and the chance to operate at the intersection of governance, business partnering, and regional finance strategy.

POSITION INFO:
The organisation forms part of a global group with sophisticated financial systems, strong governance frameworks, and established international reporting standards. Operating across several African markets, the business values financial rigour, accountability, and continuous improvement.

The Finance Manager will lead and develop a regional finance team while taking full ownership of statutory finance, compliance, and reporting across Southern, East, and West African operations. Working closely with regional leadership, global finance hubs, auditors, and external stakeholders, the role plays a pivotal part in ensuring financial integrity, supporting business growth, and building a high-performing finance function.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead, manage, and develop a regional and international finance team, providing clear direction, performance management, coaching, and ongoing development
Oversee end-to-end regional finance operations, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, general ledger, and statutory accounting
Drive timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings in line with IFRS and local GAAP requirements
Act as custodian of governance, internal controls, and financial risk management across all markets
Ensure full tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions, including filings, submissions, and regulatory engagement
Manage internal and external audit processes, ensuring efficient audit cycles and high-quality outcomes
Partner closely with regional leadership, global finance teams, and shared service centres to meet reporting deadlines and business objectives
Maintain balance sheet integrity through robust account reconciliations, reviews, and issue resolution
Serve as the primary finance point of contact for internal stakeholders and external service providers
Contribute to regional and global finance initiatives, systems implementations, and continuous improvement projects
Deliver insightful ad hoc analysis to support strategic decision-making and operational priorities

Job Experience & Skills Required:

Honours degree in Accounting or Finance; professional qualification such as, MBA, or postgraduate qualification in tax or audit highly advantageous
Minimum of 10 years’ experience within a multinational organisation and/or professional audit firm
Proven experience managing and developing finance teams within a multi-country or complex environment
Strong technical expertise in IFRS, statutory reporting, tax compliance, and regional finance operations
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and financial systems; SAP experience is a strong advantage
Fluent in English with the ability to communicate effectively across cultures and seniority levels
Experience operating in regulated, matrixed, or international organisations
Strong leadership capability, commercial acumen, and the ability to manage multiple priorities across regions
