This role is suited to an experienced Financial Manager with a solid track record in manufacturing or automotive environments, who has already led a finance function and understands the demands of Private Equity–driven reporting and performance. If you do not meet the core requirements below, this role will not be a fit.

Company and Job Description

A private equity–backed manufacturing operation is appointing a hands-on Financial Manager to take full ownership of the finance function. This is not a stepping-stone or development role — it requires a professional who can operate independently, partner with senior management, and deliver accurate, decision-ready financial information in a fast-paced operational environment.
This opportunity will suit you if you:

Are currently operating at Financial Manager level
Have led a finance team within manufacturing or automotive
Are comfortable with PE reporting expectations, deadlines, and scrutiny
Prefer a role with operational accountability rather than pure reporting

Key Responsibilities

End-to-end financial management, including management accounts and statutory reporting
Ownership of budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
Cash flow, working capital, and financial controls
Forex exposure and analysis (advantageous but not essential)
Leadership of the finance team with accountability for outputs and deadlines
Close collaboration with senior management and external stakeholders

Job Experience and Skills Required (Non-Negotiable)

Education:

BCom in Finance (essential)

Experience:

Minimum 5 years’ post-qualification financial experience
Minimum 3 years in a Financial Management / people management role
Proven experience in Manufacturing or Automotive environments
Exposure to Private Equity–owned businesses (highly advantageous)

Systems & Technical Skills:

ERP experience is essential – Navision / N4NL (Barn) preferred
Strong forecasting, financial modelling, and analytical capability
Advanced Excel proficiency

Important:

Candidates without manufacturing or automotive experience will not be considered
This role is not suitable for Junior Financial Managers or Management Accountants looking to step up

Employment Equity:

Employment Equity preference will be applied in line with company policy

Remuneration

R480,000 – R840,000 per annum, dependent on proven experience and suitability.
