SUMMARY:
Financial Manager - George

Our client is a dynamic firm with over 20 years' service in the financial industry. Currently on a recruitment drive for a dynamic, hands, on Financial Manager to join the team in George.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that staff, projects and clients are effectively managed, time is used productively and all jobs timeously invoiced.

Responsibilities include but not limited to: -

• Manage audit and tax responsibilities of all clients which includes:
  • Planning meetings with clients and staff
  • Calculate time budgets and / or deadlines for jobs and allocate the work between staff members
  • Review work done by junior staff and make necessary adjustments / corrections
  • Calculate provisional tax returns
• Manage staff and attend to their queries to ensure that their time is spent in the most cost-effective way
• First tier review of financial statements and income tax calculations for annual clients
• Management of top tier client's group entities, specifically:
  • Compile financial statements
  • Calculate tax and save relevant tax returns
  • Ensure entities are adequately and effectively insured and that all risk areas are addressed
  • Issues with municipal accounts or other service providers are resolved.
• Ownership of smaller office and supplier payments
• Ad Hoc requests on other projects and audits
• Processing customer invoices on SAGE
  • Monthly clients invoiced by 18th
  • Other jobs invoiced on weekly basis after discussion with director
  • Send monthly statement of accounts if necessary
  • Check and capture payments from bank statement
  • manage and follow up overdue invoices
  • Admin related to top tier clients group entities
• Management feedback meetings on Monday mornings. Monitor and manage staff progress on jobs
• Feedback to director on Thursday meetings on key performance areas

POSITION INFO:
Qualifications:

• matric coupled with hons degree in accounting
• 5 years within an audit environment, including leading audit teams, liaising with clients
• Fully computer literate (advanced Excel), SAGE, Teams, etc.
• Own reliable transport
• Fluent in Afrikaans and English

• Psychometric tests will be conducted
• Criminal and ITC checks will be conducted
