Our client is a reputable Packaging company with a strong footprint across South Africa. Known for its operational excellence, customer-focused delivery, and continuous improvement culture, the business offers an environment where finance leaders play a key role in commercial and operational success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the full finance function, including financial reporting, management accounting, and compliance
• Prepare and review annual financial statements (AFS) and manage the external audit process
• Deliver accurate and timely monthly management accounts and plant performance reporting
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning aligned to production targets
• Manage cash flow, working capital, and inventory controls
• Oversee cost accounting processes, including BOMs, standard costing, and variance analysis
• Monitor and control manufacturing costs, margins, and pricing models
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, tax, VAT, and statutory regulations
• Partner with operations to drive efficiencies, reduce waste, and improve profitability
• Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team while strengthening internal controls and governance

• Strong ERP experience within manufacturing/packaging environments (SAP, Syspro, Sage, or similar)
• Advanced financial reporting, costing, and analytical skills
• Strong understanding of inventory management and production cost structures
• Solid knowledge of IFRS, tax, VAT, and statutory compliance
• Strong leadership, stakeholder engagement, and decision-making ability
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced, deadline-driven production environment
• BCom Accounting (essential)
• Completed Articles (essential)
• Minimum 5 years’ post-articles experience
• Proven experience within the Packaging or Manufacturing sector (essential)
• Strong exposure to cost accounting, inventory management, and production-driven finance
