Financial Manager

POSITION INFO:
A well-established and reputable organisation within the hydraulics industry is looking for an experienced Financial Manager to take ownership of the full finance function and contribute directly to the company's continued growth and success. This role offers the opportunity to combine financial leadership with operational involvement, allowing you to partner closely with management and project teams while driving financial performance, strengthening controls, and delivering meaningful business insights. The successful candidate will play a critical role in budgeting, forecasting, job costing, and Work-in-Progress (WIP) reporting, ensuring the business remains financially efficient and commercially competitive. Key Responsibilities: Financial Management & Reporting: Oversee the full finance function and month-end reporting processes. Prepare management accounts and financial statements. Monitor financial performance and provide strategic recommendations to management. Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial information. Budgeting, Forecasting & Cash Flow: Lead annual budgeting and forecasting processes. Manage cash flow planning and reporting. Analyse financial trends and provide insights to support business decisions. Assist with long-term financial planning and profitability improvement initiatives. Costing & Operational Finance: Manage job costing across projects and contracts. Oversee Work-in-Progress (WIP) reporting and analysis. Partner with operational teams to improve project profitability and cost control. Identify opportunities to enhance operational efficiencies and financial performance. Compliance, Controls & Audits: Ensure compliance with tax regulations and statutory reporting requirements. Lead and manage annual audit processes. Maintain and strengthen internal controls and financial governance frameworks. Ensure adherence to company policies and financial best practices. Requirements: Qualifications: BCom Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. SAIPA, SAICA, or CIMA qualification. Experience: 5-7 years' post-article experience, OR Minimum 10 years' relevant finance experience. Essential experience within the hydraulics industry. Proven experience managing the full finance function. Skills & Competencies: Strong job costing and project costing experience. Solid Work-in-Progress (WIP) reporting experience. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Strong financial, analytical, and commercial acumen. Excellent leadership and stakeholder management abilities. Fluent in both Afrikaans and English. Highly organised with strong attention to detail. Ability to work both strategically and operationally within the business. What's in it for You?
