A growing SME group is looking for a CA(SA) who enjoys taking ownership, driving financial discipline and working alongside decision-makers.

POSITION INFO:
Our client is an established and entrepreneurial SME group with multiple operating entities and an ambitious vision for the future. Rather than being another cog in a large corporate machine, you'll become a trusted advisor to the executive team, contributing to business decisions while overseeing the complete finance function. This is a hands-on leadership position suited to someone who enjoys variety, values accountability and thrives in a business where no two days are the same. You'll have the opportunity to shape financial processes, strengthen governance, champion automation initiatives and support the continued evolution of the organisation. Key Responsibilities Oversee the complete finance function across multiple entities. Produce monthly management accounts with detailed variance and exception reporting. Lead the budgeting cycle and rolling forecasts. Monitor daily and monthly cash flow requirements. Prepare annual financial statements and coordinate external audits. Ensure compliance with IFRS, taxation and statutory obligations, including VAT, PAYE and income tax. Maintain robust financial policies, controls and governance standards. Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and general ledger activities. Provide financial insight to support executive decision-making. Build relationships with auditors, banking partners and external advisors. Develop and mentor the finance team. Drive automation, digitisation and continuous process improvement initiatives. Job Experience and Skills Required Education CA(SA) qualification is essential. Experience 2-3 years' post-articles experience in a Financial Manager position. Experience within an SME or multi-entity business will be highly advantageous. Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, taxation and statutory compliance. Skills Advanced Microsoft Excel. Sage Intacct or similar ERP\/accounting software. Experience with financial statement drafting software will be advantageous. Excellent leadership, analytical and stakeholder management abilities.
