JOB SUMMARY:
My client, a luxury African Retailer is currently looking for an Financial Manager to join their expanding team. We are looking for individuals with high energy levels and high learning abilities as this role requires continuous problem solving from ground level upwards. This is an in-office position and based in Durban.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Qualifications required:

Qualified CA(SA)
Any further studies completed or in progress will be given preference
Secondment to the UK post articles is beneficial for this position

Skills and experience required:

Newly qualified CA(SA) up to 2 years’ post article experience.
Top academic and extramural achiever
Sound business and financial acumen
Attention to detail
Self-starter
Ability to take ownership of the role and more
Strong leadership & managerial skills
Strong problem-solving skills
Willingness to work extra hours
Ability to work well independently as well as in a team

Job description:

Preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts
Review annual financial statements and manage the external audits
Oversee and review preparation of all monthly reconciliations
Contribute and oversee production of financial accounts and management reports
Maintain strong internal controls
Oversee and review preparation of tax-related reports including tax returns and VAT reports
Working knowledge of payroll processing
Make appropriate financial recommendations to management
Managing 7 direct reports
Identifying and solving problems in store
Operationally involved with retail stores
