JOB DESCRIPTION:

Reputable company based in Durban is seeking an experienced Accountant to join their dynamic team.

Duties are, but limited to:

Manage/ supervise and guide accounts department staff with performing all necessary duties to ensure month end is completed on time.
Manage all admin/HR for the Durban branch and assisting the directors/ shareholders with any queries they may have.
Produce and distribute monthly management accounts pack to directors/ boards members and foreign shareholders.
Ensure appropriate external audit arrangement are in place and manage the audit process
Review financial statements by auditors for fair presentation of the company’s position
Cost control, review ledger account for excessive expenditure by staff and management and implement cost saving policies
Review/ authorize all payments before being released.
Prepare salary schedule and ensure payment of salaries/ wages to all staff
Preparation and submission of all SARS returns such as VAT, EMP201, IT14SD and workman’s compensation.
Communicate with auditors and ensure tax returns are submitted yearly timeously.
Ensure implementation and adherence to all company policies throughout all departments.
Prepare and update all employee personal files.
Take charge of new IT systems and ensure staff is properly trained before use.
