Financial Manager (CA | CIMA) – Cape Town, CBD

R500K – R 600K Negotiable based on Qualification and Years of relevant experience

Reputable Investment Firm is seeking a dynamic Financial Manager to join their team.

One would describe you as having solid technical accounting knowledge with strong analytical and numerical skills as well as a strong sense of urgency and ability to thrive in a fast paced setting.

Main Purpose of the role:

The main focus of this role is to partner with the business in ensuring that all financial reporting is delivered accurately, on time, and in accordance with company requirements and accounting standards.

This position provides exposure to the full accounting spectrum including tax. The secondary focus is to lead and direct a small team to ensure submissions and reporting are met on time, and accurately.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and present weekly and monthly reporting deliverables
Quarterly forecast and annual budget preparation
Preparing for and managing external auditors
Identify and implement opportunities to improve efficiencies within the financial department
Identify and implement opportunities to improve the overall financial and reporting environment within the financial department
Prior knowledge and experience within the renewable energy sector and related tax allowances would be advantageous
Group consolidation/JV accounting/Associate Company accounting, including IFRS 9
With respect to the Group and individual project companies:
- Group company loan reconciliations
- Collation and presentation of monthly management accounts
- Collation and presentation of the annual financial statements
- Collation and submission of all tax returns (PAYE, UIF, VAT, Company Tax etc)
Liaison with all project specific stakeholders – shareholders, debt providers, banks, creditors, debtors etc
Prior working experience with:
- Sage
- IFRS and
- IFRS for SME’s

Qualification and Experience required:

CIMA or CA(SA) with audit experience in Financial services
Post articles experience in a Financial services context would be advantageous
Proficient in MS Office suite (Word, Advanced Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) with the ability to generate financial reports in Excel via different data sources
Strong knowledge of complex accounting standards (IFRS 9)
Strong knowledge of accounting systems (particularly SAGE)
Attention to detail with superb organisational skills
People management experience
Excellent report-writing and communication skills
Experience within the financial services industry is a distinct advantage
