Financial Manager – Process Improvement and Tax

JOB PURPOSE Manages and coordinates companies’ financial process function, specifically looking at improvements to current process and controls. Manages tax compliance across all business entities, as well as coordination of all BBBEE compliance relating to all entities.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Management & Control:
Develop and/or deliver a plan for significant aspects of the financial management and/or control process.
Functional Strategy Formation:
Translate business objectives into clearly defined business cases, costs, and schedules to support growth in the business.
Taxation:
Use data from a wide range of sources to analyze key themes and identify possible impacts on the business.
Financial Operations:
Provide specialist advice on the interpretation and application of policies and procedures, resolving complex or contentious queries and issues and enabling others to take appropriate actions.
General Tasks:
Ensure tax compliance for every tax area across the business.
Accountable for ensuring all e-filing is done on time.
Ensuring resolution of all SARS audits and administrative issues and updates.
Give guidance to business on the tax treatment of transactions, as well as new products that are launched in the business.
Running with all tax audits.
BBBEE:
Supporting the group BBBEE team with compliance.
Driving compliance and progress across procurement area’s for the companies.
Any other tasks that may come up from time to time

Taxation:
Works independently and provides guidance and training to others on analyzing data trends for use in reports to help guide decision making.
Data Collection and analysis:
Uses comprehensive knowledge and skills to work independently while providing guidance and training to others on analyzing data from multiple sources to draw appropriate conclusions and make suitable recommendations.
Compliance
Uses comprehensive knowledge and skills to work independently while providing guidance and training to others on analyzing data from multiple sources to draw appropriate conclusions and make suitable recommendations.
Numerical Skills:
Uses a comprehensive understanding of numerical concepts to perform mathematical operations such as report analysis independently while providing guidance and training to others.
Costing and Budgeting
Applies comprehensive knowledge and skills to work independently while providing guidance and training to others on acquiring, organizing, protecting and processing data to fulfill business objectives.
Risk Management
Uses comprehensive knowledge and skills to act independently while providing guidance and training to others on developing financial and economic models for planning and monitoring purposes.
Strategic Planning
Applies comprehensive knowledge and/or skills to independently engage in strategic planning.
Numerical Skills
Uses a comprehensive understanding of numerical concepts to perform mathematical operations such as report analysis independently while providing guidance and training to others.
Presentation skills
Uses comprehensive knowledge and skills to communicate with other people independently while providing guidance and training to others on speaking in a clear, concise and compelling manner.

EDUCATION
CA(SA) or Registered at a professional accounting body.
Registered Tax practitioner (non- negotiable)
Detailed knowledge of South African Tax laws

EXPERIENCE
Two or more years working as a tax manager in a corporate company
Extensive e-filing and tax resolution experience

• No direct reports
• Looking for someone who will be a culture fit to the current team – someone who can work in a fast-paced environment.
• Someone who will thrive on change and be able to put change processes in place. Also some who wants to learn and add value, someone who is always up for a challenge
• This person must not have complex corporate tax experience but must have experience dealing with SARS and other Tax Practitioners
• The person will also act a back up for other FMs in the team
• If they are not a CA then they must have a lot of experience

Salary - +-R660 000pa. CTC
