POSITION INFO:
My client is seeking an Operational Financial Manager to drive financial leadership within their Operations and Service Delivery teams.

This role is pivotal in supporting long-term planning, driving efficiencies, and ensuring financial compliance across complex, multi-functional environments.

This role is based in Sandton, Johannesburg North.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Partnering with Operations and Service Delivery leaders to shape and execute a forward-thinking commercial agenda.
• Overseeing and optimizing OPEX, CAPEX, and fixed asset management, ensuring cost-effectiveness and long-term sustainability.
• Leading financial planning and performance management, including budgeting, forecasting, and 10-year financial modelling.
• Driving compliance through robust financial controls, processes, and the adoption of accounting standards and systems.
• Evaluating and managing vendor relationships and advising on suitable contract types for operations and maintenance suppliers.
• Providing financial insight into network and site-level performance, and assessing CAPEX initiatives through cost-benefit analysis.
• Supporting cash flow management and working capital planning linked to operational activities.
• Mitigating risk by embedding strong internal controls and evaluating financial vulnerabilities across service delivery.
• Leading system improvements through ERP and automation integration to streamline reporting and boost data accuracy.
• Enhancing cross-functional financial literacy and empowering teams through targeted training and development.

Requirements:

• Completed Degree in Finance.
• Qualified CIMA professional.
• A seasoned finance professional with strong operational experience, ideally within infrastructure, telecoms, utilities, or similar sectors.
• Proven leadership capabilities with a track record of managing teams and influencing senior stakeholders.
• A strategic thinker with exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong understanding of CAPEX/OPEX management, financial modelling, and financial compliance.
• Experience working with ERP systems and driving technology-enabled financial transformation.
