SUMMARY:
Playing a pivotal role within the construction & fitting game, this international group is on the hunt for their next Financial Manager. They’re a listed entity within Europe, so international group experience would be advantageous

POSITION INFO:

The role will have as its primary function to ensure that the subsidiary is financially managed on a sustainable & cost-efficient basis. It will also include being the Office Manager as well as working closely with the MD.

 

Compliance to local & international fiduciary requirements & to maintain the standard of conduct & trust will form a significant part of the portfolio.

 

In addition to managing all financial aspect, being customer centric will be a key factor with regard to growing sales

 

Minimum requirements:

Essential:

  • Financial Accounting qualification
  • 3 years’ Financial Management experience
  • All round team player

Advantageous:

  • Reporting is both local and overseas, thus international group experience is beneficial
  • Must have understanding of a Sales driven business (Customer-centric)
  • Must be able to work well under pressure
  • Organised work structure (systems, filing & paperwork).
  • Important to be deadline-driven & possess strong follow up & follow through skills

 

Responsibilities:

  • People skills / Office Management – be able to handle adversity & being challenged.
  • Completion & correct finalisation of Balance Sheet, Income Statement & VAT (SARS monthly submission) monthly & annual.
  • Payroll administration & SARS, manage HR/IR requirements.
  • Manage BBBEE process.
  • Strong Cash flow management & cash flow forecasting important component of responsibilities.
  • Maintain accounting records to Group standards.
  • Manage & co-ordinate Annual Audit with external Auditors & handle signing process of related Documents.
  • Ensure that we comply & meet all the requirements from the following:
    • South African Revenue Service.
    • South African Reserve Bank.
    • Head office (Europe) & the holding company
  • Submit (& meet) weekly, monthly, half yearly & yearly deadlines set by Head Office.
  • Prepare & assist Managing Director with the budgetary requirements given by Head Office, Manage expenses / costs & advise MD accordingly to remain within Budget targets.
  • Ensure all local relevant legislation (& specifically the Compensation Fund) is met.
  • Manage the companies Provident Fund with Liberty.
  • Managing Debtors book & Customer collections.
  • Maintain & assist with the credit applications & liaison with Building Credit Management monthly & more frequently if required.
  • Maintain & review company accounting policies.
  • Assist subsidiary MD with completing annual budget pack, as well as preparation of regular weekly & monthly reports the MD & Head Office in Europe – forecasting & reporting on OLS;
  • Costings for importation of goods in Euros, Pounds, US$ & RMB with processing of specific Forex requirements for imported goods payments
  • Develop & write internal company policies where needed or requested by MD.
  • Authorising purchase orders in MD absence.
  • Manage & review credit notes (and investigate when required).
  • Stock take Management process (in conjunction with Procurement Manager & Central Warehouse Manager) – twice yearly.

Remuneration & benefits:

  • R 55 000 basic salary
  • Medical aid & provident fund contribution
  • R 5 500 travel allowance
