Financial Manager Reporting

Job & Company Description:

A well-established insurance giant seeks an experienced Financial Manager Reporting to join their finance team based in Johannesburg West.

In this role the purpose will be to assist the Group Financial Manager with reporting, taxation, alignment of policies and procedures and operational financial functions. You will also be responsible for daily financial operations and reporting of 4 subsidiary companies and ensuring compliance with internal policies and procedures. Budgets and forecasts, as well as financial analysis will also form part of your responsibilities.

Duties include, but not limited to

Preparation of monthly group and HFM reporting packs

Review of subsidiaries monthly HFM packs

Ensuring all journals are approved, posted

Review journal reconciliations

Approval of creditors and invoices

Release payments

Monthly management of fixed asset processes

Drafting and collating of responses for monthly movements to banks

Collating of information regarding IFRS 17 contracts

Providing monthly analysis and feedback on subsidiary and group financial performance

Preparation of monthly and quarterly financial management reports

Assist with compilation and review of group financial statements

Coordination of group audits and compiling audit files

Assist with preparation of budgets

Ensure IFRS compliance

Preparation and review of group tax returns and payments

Submission of the yearly insurance for group

Management of group credit cards and allocation of transactions

Education:

BCom Hons in finance or accounting

CA(SA) qualified will be advantageous

Skills & Experience:

Completed SAICA articles is non-negotiable

1 to 2 years post article experience within a reporting focused role

Technically strong with IFRS Standards

IFRS 4 Insurance contract experience

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills is a non-negotiable

Experience with Oracle and HFM is non-negotiable

Strong analytical skills

Ability to work in a highly pressured and fast paced environment

Team player
