his isn't a traditional Finance Manager position focused solely on reporting deadlines and compliance requirements. This is an opportunity for a commercially minded finance professional to become a trusted business partner, influence strategic decision-making, and drive financial performance within a dynamic agricultural operation. Based in Bethlehem, Free State , this role offers the opportunity to take ownership of the finance function for one business division while providing financial oversight across another. You'll work closely with leadership, contributing to both the strategic direction and day-to-day financial management of the business. The ideal candidate will be equally comfortable analysing financial performance, managing cash flow, improving controls, guiding operational decisions, and leading a finance team. Key Responsibilities Financial Leadership & Strategy Lead the finance function and provide strategic financial direction across the business. Partner with senior leadership to support commercial decision-making and long-term planning. Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with organisational growth objectives. Provide meaningful financial insights to support business performance and profitability. Financial Planning & Performance Management Oversee annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes. Monitor business performance against budgets and strategic objectives. Deliver comprehensive financial analysis and management reporting. Identify trends, risks, and opportunities to enhance operational and financial performance. Cash Flow & Working Capital Management Drive effective cash flow planning and treasury management. Monitor working capital requirements and optimise cash utilisation. Support business operations through proactive financial management and planning. Risk Management, Controls & Compliance Strengthen financial controls and governance frameworks. Manage financial risk and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. Develop and maintain finance policies, procedures, and best-practice controls. Ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial information. Audit & Stakeholder Engagement Lead internal and external audit processes. Liaise with auditors and key stakeholders to ensure successful audit outcomes. Present financial information and recommendations to management and business leaders. Build strong relationships across operational and commercial divisions. Team Leadership Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team. Foster a culture of accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement. Support succession planning and team capability development. Requirements Qualifications BCom Degree (essential). Completed SAICA or SAIPA Articles (essential). CIMA qualification will be advantageous. Experience Minimum 7 years' commercial finance and financial management experience. Previous experience in the agricultural sector strongly preferred. FMCG, manufacturing, commodities, or related industry experience will also be considered. Proven leadership and people management experience. Exposure to SAFEX and commodity markets will be advantageous. Strong experience in budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial reporting. ERP systems experience is essential.
