Financial / Operations Manager

SUMMARY:
A leading Company specialising in the production and distribution of analytical instruments requires the above to lead the Accounting, Logistics and Human Resource Teams for the Company.

POSITION INFO:

Minimum requirements for the role:

• A BComm (Hons) Degree in Accounting or Financial Management or related field is essential, a CA (SA) qualification would be advantageous.
• The successful candidate must be registered as a commissioner of oaths.
• Previous experience within a Financial Manager role in the Distribution or related market is essential.
• The successful candidate must be computer literate with strong Excel experience.
• Previous experience having worked on SAP or Sage VIP is preferred but not essential.
• The successful candidate must be able to manage, guide and lead employees to ensure appropriate processes are being used.
• The successful candidate must have working knowledge of all statutory legislation and regulation.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Establishing, monitoring and continuously improving business processes and systems ensuring compliance at all times.
• Presenting and providing financial reports to Senior Management making your recommendations.
• Overseeing operations of the Finance and Logistics Departments, setting goals and objectivities, and designing a framework for these to be met.
• Liaising with Auditors to ensure appropriate monitoring of the Company finances is maintained.
• Liaising with Bankers having a thorough understanding of the export letter of credit processes.
• Managing and driving the full financial function as well as some of the operations within the Company.
• Reviewing month end reconciliations, cash books, month end journals, intercompany transactions and VAT and income tax review.
• Conducting cash flow forecasts including previous month forecast to actual.
• Preparing year end pack, annual financial statements and quarterly board packs.
• Implementing new policies and procedures in order to streamline processes.
• Coordinating audits and preparing detailed audit files to minimise delays in the auditing process.
• Signing off and reviewing payroll by checking the variance reports, hours captured agree to biometrics system and that all new employees are loaded.
• Assisting with the development and implementation of Company policies and procedures.

Salary package, including benefits, is highly negotiable depending on experience gained.
