Financial Planner & Analyst

An established and fast-growing business within the financial services sector is seeking a commercially astute Financial Planner & Analyst to join their dynamic finance team.

The Role's Purpose:
The Financial Planner & Analyst will be responsible for delivering accurate financial planning, insightful analysis, and strategic support to the business. This role goes beyond reporting — it requires someone who can interpret data, challenge assumptions, and translate numbers into actionable insights.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and manage annual budgets and rolling forecasts across revenue, expenses, and cash flow
• Conduct in-depth financial and operational analysis to identify trends, assess performance, and evaluate profitability
• Provide strategic support to leadership on investments, new initiatives, and overall business planning
• Build, maintain, and enhance financial models to support scenario planning and ad hoc analysis
• Prepare monthly reporting packs and contribute to dashboards and visualisation tools
• Partner with cross-functional teams, including Finance, Marketing, and Credit, to ensure alignment on performance metrics and objectives
• Deliver variance analysis and performance commentary to support informed decision-making

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or a related field
• 2–5 years’ experience in FP&A or a Financial Analyst role
• Advanced Excel skills (financial functions, pivot tables, and VBA)
• Experience with data visualisation tools, such as Power BI or Tableau
• Working knowledge of SQL for querying databases
• Exposure to retail, fintech, or lending environments would be advantageous

• Naturally curious with a strong desire to learn and improve processes
• Strong quantitative and analytical problem-solving skills
• Ability to present complex financial data clearly to non-financial stakeholders
• Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• High level of integrity, discretion, and sound independent judgement
• Commercial mindset with strong attention to detail
