Financial Planning and Analysis Lead

SUMMARY:
Our client, a leading player in the mining sector with operations across multiple sites, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Manager. This is a strategic role requiring a dynamic finance professional with deep industry insight, a strong analytical mindset, and a proven track record in managing financial performance across multiple mines or branches.

POSITION INFO:
As the FP&A Manager, you will be responsible for driving the financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis functions to support executive decision-making and long-term strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the full FP&A function across multiple mining operations or branches.
• Consolidate financial performance and deliver insightful analysis to executive and operational leadership.
• Drive annual budgeting, long-term planning, and rolling forecast processes.
• Partner with operational leaders to track performance metrics, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions.
• Develop and maintain financial models and tools to support scenario planning and investment decisions.
• Support group reporting and contribute to board-level financial presentations.
• Implement and optimize ERP and reporting systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Provide strategic insights using tools such as Power BI, HFM, TM1, and SAP.

• Chartered Accountant CA(SA) – essential.
• Minimum 10 years of financial experience in the mining industry, including multi-site exposure.
• Proven experience in managing full FP&A functions in complex, matrixed environments.
• Strong knowledge of ERP systems and business intelligence tools:
• HFM (Hyperion Financial Management)
• IBM TM1
• SAP
• Power BI
• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Proven leadership ability and experience engaging with senior stakeholders.
