Financial Reporting and Control Manager

SUMMARY:
Ballito - We are seeking a qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) to join a leading logistics company as a Financial Reporting and Control Manager.
This role will be responsible for overseeing financial reporting, consolidation, and ensuring compliance with IFRS standards and leading a team of finance professionals.

Requirements:

• Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA)
• Extensive experience in financial consolidation, reporting, and IFRS
• Proven track record in managing teams and operational finance
• Strong proficiency in Excel and MS Office tools
• Familiarity with MS Business Central Accounting software is advantageous
• Self-motivated and able to work independently
• Demonstrates a smart approach to problem-solving and decision-making

• A solid understanding of consolidation techniques, inter- and intra-Group eliminations
• Prepare, as required, clear and understandable working papers, which are always saved (not working off-line), in order for others (remotely) to be able to review and comment as well as for the Group to ensure continuity.
• A deep understanding of the processes and controls, including main duties of the accounting department.
• Ability to understand technical aspects of business decisions - contracts and agreements that the Group will frequently enter into, including, among other, business combinations (IFRS 3), consolidation accounts (Goodwill - Intangibles), IAS 37 - IAS 1, IFRS 9.
• Ability to grasp, and be able to take over, the process of performing the consolidation for Fuel + Gas businesses in the software that the Group has recently gone live with. This is of crucial importance, and includes a significant level of project management, giving directions to the accounting teams on how the information must be submitted on a monthly basis.
• Be a good coacher, work well and co-operate effectively with sub-ordinate and accounts department (Fuel+ Gas Manager), be open to new ideas, listen but be bold when it comes to formulating an opinion that you believe is for the benefit of the Group.
