POSITION INFO:
Our client is a specialist fire engineering consultancy delivering advanced fire protection solutions across commercial, industrial, and highârisk environments. The business operates in a consultingâled, technically driven environment and works closely with multi-disciplinary teams, authorities, and developers. Projects range from performanceâbased fire engineering to complex compliance and suppression systems, offering Engineers exposure to nationally significant and technically challenging work.

The Fire Engineer will be responsible for developing fire rational designs, deemedâtoâsatisfy fire solutions, fire suppression system designs, and smoke ventilation strategies. The role involves conducting fire risk and compliance assessments, supporting projects across ECSA stages 1–6, and collaborating with clients, authorities, and internal teams to ensure compliant, practical, and costâeffective fire engineering outcomes.

Job Experience and Skills Required:

3–5 years’ experience as a Fire Engineer within the fire consulting environment
Proven experience with performanceâbased fire designs (BS 7974)
Strong knowledge of SANS 10400 (T, W, S, and M) and related fire standards
Experience designing wet and dry fire suppression systems (ASIB, SANS 10287, NFPA, and FM Global)
Exposure to special risk fire solutions (e.g. transformers and LiâBESS)
Smoke ventilation design experience (EN 12101)
Sound understanding of ECSA Stages 1–6
Fire risk and fire compliance assessment experience
