JOB SUMMARY:
The client a specialist Logistics company based in Johanessburg.

We are seeking to employee a highly experienced Transport Co-ordinator, with a very strong and matured personality, the transport coordinator will be working hand in hand with the supervior, responsible for all operations in the transport department, accountable for the transport planning, posting of goods dispatched and transport costing.
Scheduling of all inbound and outbound deliveries and inter-warehouse stock transfer orders.
To ensure on time, in full delivery to our customers by working with external warehouses and transporters.
The candidate should be familiar with all Wholesaler and Retail industry

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Role: Transport Co-ordinator

Qualification: Required:

Logistics or Supply Chain Management degree, or year equivalent diploma
2-5 years minimum relevant experience in industry with in-depth experience in all job-related requirements listed above
Must be Motivated and hardworking
Valid driver’s license with own vehicle
Must be willing to travel
Professional and well – presented
Excellent customer liaison skills
Team player
High levels of personal integrity
Reliable and punctual
Have the ability to work with little supervision

Duties & Responsibilities :

Plan customer daily deliveries within agreed timelines
Coordinate with transporters and WH on deliveries planned.
Liaise with customer services on priority deliveries and execute accordingly.
Manage emergency orders with exceptions, plan with WH and provide feedback to customer service on any roadblocks etc.
Send shipment docs to warehouse and transporter
Monitor and follow up on all deliveries executed – update customer service
Obtain the delivery notes for deliveries completed on the day of delivery and check batch numbers and quantities
Ensure that the rates are correct
Address transport related issues (wrong product delivered, late deliveries, damaged stock) with warehouse and senior customer service managed.

Desired Experience:

Extensive knowledge of Inbound, Outbound, Cycle-counting and return processes and workflows
Sound and proven skills in Planning
Must be able to meet and manage customer expectations and ensure compliance to Policies, Regulations, Work Instructions and Workloads.
A sound understanding of the Supply Chain.
Good interpersonal skills for client account management.
Very good mathematical & analytical skills, and ability to think logically
Detailed understanding of negotiations
