Fleet Controller (Cornubia KZN)

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Responsibilities:

ØFleet Controlling the maintenance and repair of vehicles in the fleet.

ØReceipting of daily vehicle check sheets and for reporting on all new damages and defects to the Manager.

ØResponsible for daily vehicle uptime reporting and routine maintenance needs.

ØReceiving and recording daily vehicle mileages from daily vehicle check sheets.

ØReceiving and recording daily fridge hours from daily vehicle check sheets.

ØResponsible for weekly vehicle and fridge and tail lift service schedule report.

ØArranging vehicles for service with service provider and DC.

ØResponsible for transfer and hand over of vehicles between DCs or to and from service providers; must manage all vehicle hand overs.

ØCompletion and signing off of vehicle check sheets on delivery and collection of vehicle etc.

ØResponsible to Cultivate and maintain strategic third party supplier relationships and service level agreements. Quality standards.

ØVehicle quality standards are consistently maintained in accordance with Road Traffic Regulations and DQSP requirements.

ØResponsible for tail lift load certification Responsible for fridge calibration certification.

ØInspect and sign off all accident and breakdown repairs for quality assurance. Responsible to obtain and maintain truck licensing and registrations.

ØQuality audits:

ØResponsible to ensure that all vehicles meet DQSP requirements and passing of all transport quality audits. Cost control - Transport expenditure is managed within budget.

ØMonitor fleet budget, and assist with fleet program development.

ØExpenditure is recorded in correct period. Accounts are accurate.

ØAuthorization of all replacements vehicles. Authorization of Purchase Orders.

ØAssets are consistently compliant with all Company procedures.

ØProcess, quality, service level and cost improvements are actively pursued.

ØEquipment maintenance (Trucks and delivery equipment) Assets are well maintained and good working order.

ØPreventative maintenance measures are practiced to prevent unnecessary expenditure.

ØReports are accurate. Report deadlines are met. Variance to budget/plan is explained.

ØRisk management - Vehicle Inspections are conducted as per procedure. All Vehicles are maintained according to specification. Comply with all relevant legislation.

ØActivities are planned and resourced according to plan. Administration.

ØHealth and safety at the workplace. Documentation is filed and organized at all times.

Job Requirements: NB – Candidates who do not meet all the minimum requirements will not be considered.

ØGrade 12 or equivalent.

ØGood technical knowledge with training and/or experience in below fields; MAN Trucks.

ØGrenco / Carrier Refrigeration Systems, Mixtelematics Systems as well as Tyre Management.

ØComplete and up-to-date knowledge of road traffic regulations.

ØValid Code 14 EC Driving License and PrDP with a minimum of 3years driving experience.

ØDriver Training: Dover Test, VTS Test, Taillift license, Medical Check, Clear Criminal record, Valid PDP, Truck reverse test.

ØGood computer proficiency (Adept in all MS office applications) Grade 12 is compulsory.

ØIntermediate Computer literacy MS Excel, Outlook PowerPoint.
