Flight operations manager for a remote destination hospitality company

JOB DESCRIPTION:

FLIGHT OPERATIONS MANAGER – Cape Town

Our Client offers an extreme adventure destination experience which is at the top end of luxury and exclusivity. The company is multi-award winning with a high global reach of both clientele and employees.

Accountable for all aspects of flight operations as well as leadership of the Flight Operations team (training, performance management)
Responsible for the aerodrome operations on site, ground support and flight following services.
Manage the relationship with air service providers, including contract management.
Oversight of the intercontinental flight schedule and supervision of client flight dispatch procedures.
Identification of flight windows consulting with weather provider and consideration of NOTAMs and asset availability.
Communication with key internal stakeholders including air operators and regulators.
Able to perform Cape Town Flight Coordinator duties. These duties include:
- Maintaining of Flight Schedule
- Payload manifest
- Point of contact for flight crews at FACT on matters such as (1) Weather briefings, (2) NOTAM briefings and (3) Abnormalities
- Ensuring all elements of the flight at the airport come together for a successful launch
- Flight Monitoring

Skills and experience:

Managing remote and technical teams
Aviation operations management
Capability and system development, preferably within a regulated and remote setting.
Management of aviation charters
User level understanding of meteorology and forecasting processes.
Broad understanding of ICAO standards and aeronautical regulatory systems
CRM aware
