Food Blending Process Lead

SUMMARY:
Our food manufacturing client requires a Blending Process Lead (Yeast), who will be responsible for the daily management of the JHB QC Laboratory and operations of the Blending Plant. The role provides technical expertise, operations management and QC support to ensure compliance with quality, food safety, and regulatory standards.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities: Managing JHB QC & Microbiology Lab and Operations of the Blending Plant. Budget & cost centre management Handling Municipality accounts and effluent reports for Joburg water Weekly stocktake and micro reports Handling customer complaints and investigations Oversight of audits Food safety protocols wrt to traceability and equipment verifications as well as FS Culture Ensure Quality\/Food Safety objectives blending are achieved Management of External lab samples Management of service providers for the site Management of retentions Overseeing product release processes Staff leave management and attendance registers Training in Lab and blending: process\/skills & completing performance records reports Set performance objectives Knowledge Qualifications and Experience: Diploma\/Degree Biotechnology with Microbiology\/Biochem Majors \/ BTech in Ops Management & General Management The successful candidate will have a sound understanding of yeast biology, fermentation processes, microbiological control and the operational factors influencing yeast quality, consistency and performance. 5+ years Quality Control experience Syspro\/ Opsuite \/ Tempo system experience Experience in report writing
