POSITION INFO:
We are looking for an experienced, detail-oriented Food Safety & QA Specialist to join our team. This is a key role responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining world-class food safety and quality management systems across our operations. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in the food manufacturing or food processing industry, a strong understanding of food safety legislation and quality standards, and a proven ability to lead compliance initiatives while driving continuous improvement. Key Responsisbilities Develop, implement, maintain, and continuously improve Food Safety Management Systems (FSMS), policies, procedures, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Ensure ongoing compliance with food safety, quality, and regulatory requirements. Lead the preparation, coordination, and successful completion of external and internal audits. Manage and maintain HACCP systems, ensuring effective implementation and continuous compliance. Apply practical experience with FSSC 22000 , specifically Intertek certification requirements, to maintain certification standards. Oversee laboratory testing, product sampling, quality verification, and analysis to ensure product integrity. Conduct routine internal audits, inspections, and risk assessments. Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and implement corrective and preventative actions (CAPAs). Develop and deliver food safety and quality training to employees across the business. Investigate non-conformances, customer complaints, and quality incidents, ensuring effective root cause analysis and corrective actions. Work closely with production and operational teams to promote a strong food safety and quality culture. Minimum Requirements Minimum 8 years' experience in the food manufacturing or food processing industry . Proven experience implementing and managing HACCP systems. Demonstrated hands-on experience with FSSC 22000 , including Intertek certification standards. Strong knowledge of food safety legislation, quality assurance systems, and regulatory compliance. Experience conducting internal and external audits. Practical laboratory testing and quality verification experience. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Valid driver's licence and own reliable vehicle (non-negotiable). Preferred Qualifications Relevant tertiary qualification in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, Quality Management, or a related field.
