POSITION INFO:
Introduction A fintech business driven by supporting entrepreneurs in the digital economy is seeking a Fraud Analyst to join its Fraud Operations team. You will assist in reviewing transactions on an ongoing basis, investigating, detecting and preventing fraudulent activities within the platform ecosystem. You will liaise with clients and third parties to resolve fraud-related queries in a timely manner, working collaboratively with the broader team and escalating urgent matters to the Fraud Operations Manager as needed. Key Responsibilities Review alerts generated by monitoring tools within the Fraud team Extract and analyse specific data sets according to established standard operating procedures and processes Conduct desktop investigations, including reviewing transaction history and documentation of clients under review Document findings, decisions and recommendations for the reviewer on duty to consider and action Monitor the business unit mailbox and other platforms, ensuring fraud-related client queries are attended to and resolved in a timely manner Ensure accurate record keeping and documenting of all findings and decisions made Work collaboratively with the reviewer on duty and broader team, escalating urgent queries appropriately Requirements Matric certificate or equivalent At least 1–2 years' experience in customer service, consulting, finance, legal or a related field Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and general computer literacy Problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify issues, gather information and propose solutions Analytical thinking and attention to detail Ability to multitask and handle multiple inquiries simultaneously without compromising service quality Strong communication skills across phone, email and chat channels Ability to work under pressure, maintain resilience and manage queries with a positive, professional attitude High level of integrity and ethics, with commitment to confidentiality and protecting sensitive information Adaptability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment and quickly adopt new tools and processes Teamwork and ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues to achieve common goals Commitment to continuous learning and development Preferred: Relevant tertiary qualification such as a diploma or degree in finance, legal or a related field Preferred: Experience working with a diverse customer base across different language and cultural backgrounds Preferred: Experience in a call centre or similar environment
