SUMMARY:
Quality Control Inspector Temp - Start ASAP - R 18 000 PM - Somerset West

To support the fruit quality management team, by performing daily fruit inspections on incoming and outgoing products at the various loading and packing depot locations.

The quality inspector will need to accurately and timeously, record inspection and trial data and assist the quality management team with fruit quality investigations.

POSITION INFO:
Key performance areas:

QC Inspections and data capturing.
Research and development trial assistance.
Investigation and project assistance.
QC administration assistance.
Learning and training - postharvest.

Candidate requirements:

1. Formal qualification:
- Diploma/ Degree in relevant field

2. Job-related experience:
- Fruit quality control (1 – 2 years)
- Soft fruit industry experience (1 – 2 years) (desirable)

3. Job-related knowledge:
- Understanding of soft fruit retailers and/or importers requirements (1 – 2 years) (desirable)
- Working with fruit specifications (1 – 2 years)
- Basic Quality Control inspection processes (1 – 2 years)

4. Job-related skills:
- Strong problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills
- Competent on Microsoft Office programmes (2-3 years)
- Good time management
- Valid driver’s license
- Experience working on DiPAR QC system (desirable)

5. Competencies:
- Ability to work without close supervision
- Interest in solving problems and contributing to intellectual debates
- Interest in developing trusting relationships with colleagues
- Ability to cope well under pressure
