DBN000322 – Treasury Accountant (6 month contract) | La Mercy

Purpose of the job:
To ensure financial operations' precision, integrity, and effectiveness.


Required Qualifications

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
2. At least 5 years of experience in a comparable position, with an emphasis on treasury management and general ledger accounting.
3. Solid grasp of accounting concepts and procedures.
4. Proficiency with Google Sheets, Microsoft Excel, and accounting software (Sage X3).
5. 6 month Fixed contract (With the possibility of becoming permanent)

POSITION INFO:
Technical Competencies & Experience: Oversee and guide finance staff while allocating responsibilities fairly. 2. Keep track of depreciation, disposals, and IAS 16 compliance in fixed asset registers. 3. Conduct routine asset reviews to find impairments and modify useful lifetimes. 4. Manage foreign exchange transactions, cash flow, and treasury activities on a weekly basis. 5. Handle international payments and balance deposits, prepayments, and bank accounts. 6. Examine journals, recharges, and VAT reporting to ensure general ledger accuracy. 7. Balance auxiliary funds, such as staff advances, credit cards, and petty cash. 8. Strictly adhere to the reporting deadlines for month-end closures. 9. Provide information for regulatory and Statistics SA surveys and assist with financial audits. Promote automation and process enhancements to optimize financial systems. Behavioural Competencies: Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
