Are you a visionary engineering leader ready to drive operational excellence in a dynamic mining environment? Our client is seeking a General Manager – Maintenance & Projects to spearhead maintenance strategies, capital project execution, and technical governance across their mining division.
POSITION INFO:
✔ Lead engineering maintenance and project strategies to optimize asset availability and integrity.
✔Drive operational efficiency, compliance, and sustainable cost control for both mobile and fixed plant assets.
✔Oversee CAPEX projects exceeding R50 million, ensuring seamless execution from feasibility to commissioning.
✔Implement world-class reliability practices, including RCM, RCA, condition monitoring, and predictive analytics.
✔Engage with regulators, unions, and OEMs while ensuring full compliance with MHSA, DMR, and SANS codes.
✔Lead shutdowns, emergency maintenance, and cost optimization initiatives.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (Essential)
Government Certificate of Competency (GCC Mines & Works) (Essential)
Project Management Certification (PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent)
15+ years'' experience in chemical, metallurgical, heavy industrial plants, or mining.
8+ years'' senior leadership experience in maintenance or engineering environments.
Proven success in capital project execution and asset reliability management.
MBA, MBL, or Postgraduate Qualification in Engineering/Operations Management will be advantageous.
