POSITION INFO:
Purpose of this Position
The Structures General Foreman programmes tasks and ensures that resources requirements are met. The structures general foreman ensures that work is completed cost-effectively according to programmes and specifications, in a safe and productive environment.

Qualification and Other Requirements:

• Matric Certificate
• Tertiary Technical Qualification Advantageous
• Minimum of 10 Years proven Construction Industry Experience as a General Foreman
• Drivers licence

• Proven experience as a General Foreman – Civil Structures
• Attention to detail and checking skills
• Knowledge of construction specifications
• Understand and capability to compile a construction programme indicating planned vs. actual progress, resource planning and supervision requirements
• Analysis and problem-solving skills
• Computer literate (Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel (Advanced), Projects (Intermediate)
• Lula Build / CCS (basic knowledge and understanding)
• Ability to work independently
• Proven experience managing teams
• In-depth knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act and Company safe work procedures
• Production and Quality workmanship orientated
• Excellent command of English. Afrikaans and Xhosa would be an advantage (Oral and Written)
• Verbally astute and must be able to communicate easily with clients and their representatives regarding technical details.

• Organise team, material and plant o Monitor productions, quality and Safety
• Discuss changes/delays to programme with the Site Agent
• Conduct production meetings with subordinates including changes
• Monitor and Control Waste and Costs
• Monitor Use, returns and damage to equipment
• Identifying and Implementing of innovative methodologies to ensure increased productivity and quality.
• Early identification of potential technical problems and delays and solving it timeously in order to eliminate delays and poor workmanship.
• Communicate with Site Engineer regarding technical issues and ethically protecting the interests of our company
• Manage site logistics and prioritise as required

• Request/Receive contract programme and drawings with project specifications from Site Agent
• Set up a detailed works programme for the complete project
• Detailed task planning according to the works programme requirement (e.g. team size, material and equipment needs, etc.)
• Monitoring the works programme to ensure compliance and adjust when necessary.
• Procure resources according to company procurement procedures
• Check that all pre-approvals are in place (e.g. services, property ownership, etc.)
• Early warning to management regarding possible delays attributable to the above pre-approvals
• Implement quality and production monitoring system
• Report non-conformance and non-approvals to Site Agent

• Ensure sub-ordinates work completed as instructed
• Identify training opportunities and general promotion of skills upliftment and growth of subordinates.
• Promotes and drives supervisory qualities like discipline, neatness, pride and accuracy
• Ensure daily reports submitted correctly and are approved
• Advise on Disciplinary Issues and Chair Disciplinary Hearings as required
• Report labour unrest or other complex labour issues to Site Agents

• Ensure the implementation of all site safety requirements
• Ensure the delegation of general safety responsibility
• Ensure site personnel maintain and enforce safety requirements
• Ensure Team Leaders maintain and enforce safety requirements
• Reporting of Serious Incidents (Damage and Injury)
